On September 24, 2020, the WTO Safeguards Committee released the safeguard notification submitted to it by the Indonesian delegation on September 21. Indonesia has made an affirmative final ruling on safeguard measures against imported carpets and other floor coverings of textile materials (CasdfssdfsrpetsasdfssdfsndOther Textile Floor Coverings). It is recommended that a three-year safeguard tax be levied on the products involved. The specific tax amount is as follows: IDR 85,679/square meter in the first year. , in the second year it was IDR 81,763/square meter, and in the third year it was IDR 78,027/square meter. This case involves products under tariff heading 57. China is the main import source country for the products involved.
The Indonesian investigation agency will conduct case consultations no later than October 16, 2020. Stakeholders should submit written application for case consultation in both paper and electronic forms within 7 days of the release of this announcement.
