Petra News Agency reported on October 14 that the Jordan Industrial Association stated that Jordan’s clothing and leather exports from January to September this year were JD 899 million, a year-on-year decrease of 15%, a decrease of 1.6 billion Billion Jordans.
Some textile companies in Jordan, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, have been forced to lay off employees or go bankrupt. It is expected that industry exports will worsen in the fourth quarter, with a decline that may reach 25%. Things will gradually return to normal in early 2021. Some clothing and leather companies have turned to producing masks, protective clothing, and protective shoes to meet local demand and create jobs. The industry has export opportunities of US$550 million and the potential to create 33,000 jobs. </p
