In the past week, the domestic and export prices of Pakistan’s cotton and yarn continued to rise. Cotton yarn prices remain very strong due to very strong demand from the textile industry.
It is understood that Pakistani downstream companies are currently continuing to purchase large quantities of raw materials to replenish raw material inventories. 30-count carded yarn increased by 4.83% in a single week, and a cumulative increase of 22.49% in the past four weeks. At the same time, the export price of Pakistani yarn continued to rise due to insufficient supply from textile mills. The 30-count carded yarn increased by 2.84% in a single week, and the cumulative increase in the past four weeks was 22.54%.
However, Pakistan’s gray fabric export prices fell slightly. In addition, after several weeks of rapid rise, the price of cotton in Pakistan has not changed. The Karachi spot price index has stabilized at 10,100 rupees/maud (37.32 kg). BCI and organic cotton prices have also increased. That week, the price of US cotton imported into Pakistan reached over 80 cents/pound. </p
