The revenue of the textile and apparel sector increased year-on-month in June 2021 due to the end of the Eid al-Fitr holiday in Pakistan. Exports of textiles and clothing were US$1.66 billion, an increase of 56.58% month-on-month and 73.07% year-on-year; 95 tons of raw cotton were exported; 39,000 tons of cotton yarn were exported, an increase of 65.29% month-on-month and 8.11% year-on-year; cotton cloth exports were 45 million square meters, an increase of 78.56% month-on-month. A year-on-year decrease of 68.45%. Export revenue for cotton fabrics in June was US$205 million (US$135 million in May), knitwear US$422 million (US$293 million), bedding US$299 million (US$181 million), and ready-made garments US$325 million (US$195 million).
In the 2020/21 fiscal year (July 2020-June 2021), Pakistan exported US$15.417 billion in textiles and clothing, a year-on-year increase of 48.04%; exported 388,000 tons of cotton yarn, A year-on-year increase of 30.36%. </p
