According to data from the Turkish Statistics Bureau and the Ministry of Trade, Turkey’s clothing exports from January to October 2021 were US$15.118 billion, an increase of 23.39% from US$11.152 billion in the same period in 2020.
In terms of categories, exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS Chapter 61) from January to October 2021 were US$8.853 billion, compared with US$6.749 billion in the same period in 2020 The dollar grew 31.2%.
Exports of non-knitted clothing and accessories (HS Chapter 62) were US$6.265 billion, an increase of 13.8% from US$5.503 billion in the same period in 2020.
In terms of non-clothing, exports of carpets, floor mats and tapestries (HS Chapter 57) increased significantly by 28.9% to US$2.666 billion from January to October 2021.
Exports of used clothes and other textiles and rags (HS Chapter 63) increased by 17.1% to US$2.366 billion.
At the same time, Turkey’s imports of cotton, cotton yarn and cotton textiles (HS Chapter 52) increased significantly by 34.9% to US$2.826 billion. </p
