On January 19, 2011, Health Canada announced a recall of Chinese-made children’s rainproof jackets.
The recalled product is KasdfssdfsttnasdfssdfskkenJunior children’s rainproof jacket. The exterior of the product is polyurethane knit and the interior is made of polyester lining with zippers, adjustable hood, snap buttons, reflective surfaces and more. Size suitable for children ages 5-12. The specific recalled product information is as follows:
The product’s drawstring may get stuck on playground equipment, fences, cars and other objects, causing children to be entangled or dragged.
The product was sold in Canada from October 2020 to January 2011, and approximately 11 units were sold.
As of January 17, 2011, no reports of accidents or casualties have been received.
Health Canada advises consumers to remove the drawstring immediately to eliminate the risk.
