On May 14, the Peruvian official daily issued Supreme Decree No. 006-2011-MINCETUR jointly issued by the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Foreign Trade and Tourism, and Production, deciding not to ban imported clothing products. Temporary safeguard measures were adopted on the grounds that the investigation at this stage could not confirm the existence of the necessary legal conditions for the adoption of temporary measures. In the next step, the Dumping, Subsidy and Non-tariff Trade Barriers Committee of the Peruvian National Institute for Competition and Intellectual Property Protection will continue to conduct investigations in accordance with procedures. The multi-sector committee composed of the above three ministries will make a final decision based on the final investigation report.
