According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of Vietnam, Vietnam’s import volume of textile, garment, leather and footwear raw materials in June 2011 was US$2.4 billion. In the first half of this year, Vietnam’s total imports of textile, garment, leather and footwear raw materials reached US$14.71 billion, an increase of 8.7% compared with the same period last year.
Among them, the import value of various fabrics reached 7.95 billion US dollars, an increase of 9%; the import value of textile, garment and footwear raw materials reached 3.52 billion US dollars, an increase of 5.5%; The import value of seed cotton reached US$1.83 billion, an increase of 15.5%; the import value of various fibers reached US$1.41 billion, an increase of 6.4%.
China is Vietnam’s largest source of imports of the above-mentioned products, accounting for 53% of Vietnam’s total imports of such products (equivalent to US$7.76 billion, an increase of 22.7% over the same period last year) .
Vietnam’s main import sources of textile, garment, leather and footwear raw materials are China, South Korea, Taiwan, the United States, and the ASEAN market. In 2021, these five major markets accounted for 81% of Vietnam’s total imports of textile, garments, leather and footwear raw materials. </p
