Egypt’s garment exports increased by % in the previous month

According to the Al-Ahram website on September 19, the Egyptian Garment Export Council said on Monday that Egypt’s garment exports in the first seven months of 2011 reached US$1.44 billion, a year-on-year increase of 35%. Egypt’s largest destination for garment exports is the United States, followed by Europe and Arab countries. In the first seven months, Egypt’s garment exports to the United States reached US$820 million, a year-on-year increase of 38%, exports to Europe were US$266 million, an increase of 26%, and exports to Arab countries were US$195 million, an increase of 33%. The committee will introduce the latest progress of Egypt’s clothing and textile industry in reusing resources and promoting sustainable economic development at the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in December. </p
