According to the latest statistics, in December 2011, Vietnam’s textile and clothing exports reached 2.892 billion US dollars, a month-on-month increase of 7.01%, a year-on-year decrease of 5.20%; the export of yarn was 229,500 tons, a month-on-month increase 2.41%, a year-on-year decrease of 24.04%; imported yarn was 83,200 tons, a month-on-month increase of 13.14%, a year-on-year decrease of 12.22%; imported fabrics were US$2.259 billion, a month-on-month increase of 8.79%, a year-on-year decrease of 13.38%.
From January to December 2011, Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports reached 34.595 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 21.99%; the exported yarn was 1.4415 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 16.65%; the imported yarn 964,200 tons of yarn were produced, a year-on-year increase of 1.03%; imported fabrics were US$13.651 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8%. </p
