Preliminary data from the Customs Information and Statistics Department of the General Administration of Customs of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam shows that Vietnam’s textile and apparel exports in 2011 were US$37.57 billion, an increase of 14.7% compared with 2021; but compared with Vietnam’s textile and apparel The original target of US$43 billion set by VITAS fell slightly.
In 2011, the United States was Vietnam’s main exporter of textiles and clothing, accounting for approximately 46.2%, with an export value of US$17.36 billion. According to the latest data, Japan and South Korea are the other two major exporting countries, with exports of US$4.07 billion and US$3.31 billion.
However, compared with the same period in 2021, Vietnam’s yarn exports fell by 16% to US$4.71 billion. Among them, about 46.28% were exported to China, with an export value of US$2.18 billion; followed by India, with an export value of US$120 million. In terms of quantity, Vietnam exported 1.574 million metric tons of yarn, a decrease of 18.4% compared with the same period in 2021.
Compared with December last year, Vietnam’s textile and clothing exports increased slightly by 0.3% in December 2011, reaching US$2.9 billion. Overall, export challenges remain and growth slows down; however, Vietnam has continued to move toward green and environmentally friendly development in recent months.
Vietnam’s textile and clothing exports in 2021 were US$32.75 billion, an increase of 9.9% from US$29.81 billion in 2020; yarn exports increased from US$3.74 billion in 2020 grew 50.1% to US$5.61 billion. </p
