In December, India exported 46,500 tons of cotton yarn (under HS: 5205), a month-on-month decrease of 1.06% and a year-on-year decrease of 62.13%. In 2011/23 (August-December), 180,500 tons of cotton yarn were exported, a year-on-year decrease of 69.03%.

In 2011/23 (August-December), the main exporting countries and export volume proportions of Indian cotton yarn are as follows: 72,200 tons were exported to Bangladesh, a year-on-year decrease of 68.64% , accounting for 39.38%; exports to China were 7,200 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 94.01%, accounting for 3.99%.

India’s cotton yarn exports showed a downward trend in 2011/23 (August-December). In September, they fell to the lowest level of the year and began to gradually pick up in October. Looking at the major exporters of Indian cotton yarn, Bangladesh is the main export destination, accounting for nearly 40%, and China ranks fifth, with a significant year-on-year decrease of more than 90%. </p
