Foreign news on March 7, in Tirupur, southern India, cotton yarn prices were stable on Tuesday due to limited trade activities. The area is also the main hosiery manufacturing center in the south. Buyers are still not enthusiastic about new deals, and traders point out that domestic garment manufacturing has not yet recovered and is expected to recover in the coming weeks. Also Mumbai is closed for Holi festival.

Trade sources pointed out that cotton yarn transactions in most states were sparse due to the Holi festival. Although Holi is not celebrated much in southern India, markets in the north and center of the country are closed for the festival. Traders in southern India are having difficulty finding new buyers, and a slowdown in purchasing in the garment industry has also led to a sluggish trade.

According to TexPro, in Tirupur, the transaction price of 30-count combed cotton yarn is 280-285 rupees per kilogram (plus additional consumption tax), and the 34-count combed cotton yarn is priced at 280-285 rupees per kilogram. 292-297 rupees per kilogram, 40 count combed cotton yarn 308-312 rupees per kilogram. The price of 30-count cotton yarn is 255-260 rupees per kilogram, 34-count cotton yarn is 265-270 rupees per kilogram, and 40-count cotton yarn is priced at 270-275 rupees per kilogram.

Meanwhile, in Kupang, cotton prices remained stable due to low arrivals and limited purchases. The market noted low cotton arrivals as farmers did not deliver their crops to the market. Prices remain stable at Rs 62,500-63,000 per 356 kg. </p
