On March 9, 2023, the US CPSC announced a recall of bamboo fiber nursing hoodies made in China.
This recall involves KindredBrasdfssdfsvely brand bamboo fiber nursing hoodies, sold in various colors and sizes for use by nursing mothers. The hoodie is made of bamboo fiber, acrylic, and spandex. It has a drawstring closure and a hidden zipper on the chest, making it easy to use during breastfeeding. The sewn-in label at the neck has the brand name KindredBrassvely, size, care instructions and PO number.
The product drawstring has a small plastic cap, which may be swallowed by nursing infants, posing a choking hazard.
The recalled products were sold in the United States from December 2021 to December 2011, with approximately 7,500 units sold, priced at approximately US$75.
So far, no accidents or casualties have been reported.
CPSC recommends that use of this product should be stopped immediately, and the fully extended drawstring should be cut off and discarded. Consumers can also apply for a $75 store credit by filling out an online form at www.kindredwasdfssdfsrvely.com/pasdfssdfsges/basdfssdfsmboo-hoodie-sasdfssdfsfety-recasdfssdfsll and providing a photo of the cut drawstring and company branding.
