Foreign news on July 10 showed that cotton yarn in northern India has mixed results. Prices fell by Rs 2 per kg in Ludhiana and remained stable in Delhi.

Trade sources said trading activity has increased slightly due to the upcoming festive season and the end of the current cotton market year.

Demand in Delhi is expected to increase in the coming weeks, and the increase in the minimum support price (MSP) is expected to push up cotton prices in the next season, which may prompt the entire Buyers along the value chain add inventory.

Panipat recycled yarn prices are stable.

Cotton yarn prices in Ludhikana fell by Rs 2 per kg. Downstream industry demand is consistent, albeit limited. A trader in Ludhikana said: “The market has shown no signs of improvement, leading to a fall in prices. Despite this, buyers are actively making inquiries.”

Delhi Cotton yarn prices were also steady, although traders were optimistic about an improvement in demand in the coming weeks. A trader in Delhi said: “Due to the upcoming festivals, domestic retail demand is expected to increase. The entire value chain domestic sentiment is expected to improve. The MSP hike will also push up the prices of various cotton yarns, prompting buyers to hoard raw materials.”

Panipat recycled yarn witnessed moderate purchasing activity as prices remained at previous levels. The market is still waiting for downstream industries to increase purchases. The peak domestic demand season is usually concentrated in the second half of the year, and traders are optimistic that the upcoming festival will boost market sentiment. Combed cotton prices are also unchanged from the previous price.

Cotton prices in northern India rose slightly due to increased demand from spinning mills. Traders pointed out that spinners are actively buying cotton at the end of the season as arrivals continue to decrease. </p
