Sri Lanka’s garment industry exports fall to new low

Sri Lanka’s “Daily Finance” reported on August 24 that the export volume of Sri Lanka’s garment industry fell to US$401 million in July, a year-on-year decrease of 23%. The previous monthly lowest record in the previous five years was in 2021, which was US$425.75 million. As of now, Sri Lanka’s garment industry exports have totaled US$2.68 billion, a 19% decrease from the same period in 2022. </p
