US urges Bangladesh to crack down on counterfeit clothing exports

According to a report by Bangladesh’s “Daily Star” on September 25, 2023, according to the U.S. Trade Representative, the United States proposed during the recently held seventh round of Trade and Investment Cooperation Forum The issue of counterfeit clothing exported by Bangladesh, the second largest clothing supplier, requires Bangladesh to update its intellectual property laws to prevent counterfeit goods from being exported to the United States. Earlier, the Office of the United States Trade Representative named Bangladesh among the top five sources of counterfeit clothing globally. Bangladesh stated that intellectual property rights are highly protected during the trade process, and if the affected US companies lodge complaints, the Bangladeshi government will take necessary actions. </p
