Chinese delegation discusses potential of China-Bangladesh garment trade with Bangladesh

According to the “Daily Sun” report, on January 22, a delegation composed of representatives from the China Knitting Industry Association and the China Cotton Textile Association visited Bangladeshi garment manufacturers and exporters Association (BGMEA). Chinese members include Lin Yunfeng, president of the China Knitting Industry Association, Jing Shenquan, vice president of the China Cotton Textile Association, and representatives from Chinese textile machinery, chemicals, raw materials and other enterprises. The Bangladeshi side includes BGMEA Chairman Hassan, Vice Chairman, Directors, Lawyers, etc. The two sides focused on discussing expanding trade and investment and expanding the scope of cooperation. Hassan introduced the overall situation of Bangladesh’s garment industry and its plan to transform into high value-added products. It is hoped that China will, first, increase investment in Bangladesh’s high-end textiles and the upstream of the industrial chain, second, strengthen knowledge and technology exchanges with Bangladesh, and third, continue to meet Bangladesh’s needs for chemical fiber fabrics, chemicals, and other raw materials. </p
