AATCC130 easy decontamination test
Purpose and Scope
1.1 This test method is used to test the ability of fabrics to remove oil stains during the laundering process.
1.2 This test method is first used to evaluate the anti-oil stain performance of fabrics in actual use after finishing.
1.3 The use of this test does not exclude the use of garment testing principles.
2.1 The stain is used to test the sample. Use a specified weight to press some stain onto the fabric. The stained fabric is washed and ironed in a prescribed manner. The remaining stain is rated according to an anti-stain rating card ranging from 5 to 1.
Equipment and Materials
3.1 Blotting paper
3.2 Corn oil
3.3 Cellophane or other equivalent items
3.4 Timer/Stopwatch
3.5 weights, 5.0 ± 0.1 lb (stainless steel or better)
3.6 Medical drip set
3.7 Fully automatic washing machine
3.8 Fully automatic clothes dryer
3.9 Commercial granular detergent or household detergent specified by AATCC1993 standard (Tide detergent, 9.8% P)
3.10 wadding (36 x 36 inch), seam-edge bleached fabric piece (wadding type 1) or 50/50 poly/cotton bleached or mercerized poplin (wadding type 2), or 50/50 poly/cotton Bleached mercerized plain fabric (filler type 3)
3.11 Rating area (rated lights and areas available for AATCC 124 testing)
3.12 Workbench with non-glaring black surface (24 x 36 inch, height 35 ± 1 inch)
3.13 Anti-fouling rating card or 3M anti-fouling color card
3.14 Thermometer
3.15 Balance test sample cloth for weighing
4.1 Use two test sample cloths (15.0 ± 0.4 x 15.0 ± 0.4 inch) for each measurement. Test sample cloth at least 4 hours at 21 ± 1 ℃ and 65 ± 2% humidity.
Contamination procedures
5.1 Place the unstained sample cloth flatly on the AATCC white blotting paper, with the surface level.
5.2 Use a medical dropper to drop 5 drops (about 0.2 ml) of corn oil approximately in the center of the test cloth sample.
5.3 Place a piece of (3.0 x 3.0 inch) cellophane paper on the stained area
5.4 Place the weight on the cellophane paper on the stained area
5.5 After the weight is placed for 60 ± 5 s, remove the weight and discard the cellophane piece
5.6 The test specimens are not allowed to come into contact with each other to transfer stains. Rinse for 20 ± 5 minutes after staining.
Washing program
6.1 Discharge water to the high water level according to the temperature selected in Table 1, and check with a thermometer.
6.2 Add 100 ± 1 g of detergent into the washing machine.
6.3 Start stirring the water, add the filler and test sample cloth to make the total weight (4.00 ± 0.15 lb). The maximum number of sample cloths for each washing machine is 30 pieces for each test.
6.4 Set the washing machine to Normal wash and complete the test after running for 12 minutes (both washing and rinsing are under normal agitation).
After the post-6.5 rotation is completed, take out all the filling materials and the test sample cloth and put them into the dryer.
6.6 Set the dryer to Normal (Cotton Sturdy) and set it for 45 minutes or until dry. Some dryers have an automatic cooling process for 5 minutes after drying in the Normal program. For dryers without this feature, change the setting to air drying for 5 minutes after setting it for 45 ± 5 minutes. The maximum temperature at the air outlet of the clothes dryer can reach 65 ± 5 ℃.
6.7 Take out the sample cloth immediately after the dryer rotation is completed, and lay it flat to prevent the formation of creases or wrinkles, which will affect the oil stain resistance rating, and evaluate it within 4 hours after drying.
Assessment
7.1 Place the rating card on the lining board, with the center at a distance of 114 ± 3 cm from the ground.
7.2 Fix one side of the test sample cloth on the lining board, and place it flatly on the table with the center facing the black top. The sample cloth can be rotated and moved to facilitate observation from the lower level.
7.3 The observation distance should be 30 ± 1 inch) from the black lining, and the eyes should be (62 ± 6 inch) from the ground. The evaluator should stand directly in front of the sample cloth. Changing the viewing angle horizontally or vertically will affect the viewing angle.
