Due to unqualified flame retardancy, there are many cases of returns of textile fabrics exported from my country. In order to prevent the decline in exports of my country’s textile fabrics and accessories due to unqualified flame retardancy, more and more textile export companies are focusing on the production of flame retardant fabrics.
Unqualified flame retardancy hinders export
It is understood that flame retardant performance is one of the main indicators that affects the quality of textile clothing. European and American flame retardant safety regulations set three combustion levels for textiles. Level 1 is for general combustion characteristics; level 2 is for moderate burning characteristics; level 3 is for rapid and violent burning. This type of textile is considered to be dangerous flammable material. Since this type of textiles can easily burn quickly and violently, posing a fire risk, they are not suitable for use in clothing, especially children’s clothing.
According to statistics, in recent years, among the textiles and clothing exported to Europe and the United States from all over the world, the vast majority of the products that have been notified due to unqualified flame retardant properties are produced in China. Unqualified flame retardant properties have seriously hindered the export of my country’s textiles.
According to industry insiders, there are two main reasons for the unqualified flame retardant performance of textiles and clothing: First, some clothing processing companies do not have strong risk awareness, use too light and thin textile raw materials in the production process, and do not inspect the final products in a timely manner. The flame retardant performance was tested, and some companies’ products also had defects in clothing design; secondly, some clothing accessories were decorated with feathers, making such clothing extremely easy to burn.
Accelerate the production of flame-retardant fibers
In order to prevent the export decline of my country’s textile fabric accessories due to substandard flame retardancy, more and more textile export companies are paying more and more attention to the production of flame retardant fabrics.
Industry insiders pointed out that textile fabric export companies should also avoid flame retardant risks from three aspects. The first is to master domestic and foreign technical regulations. Export clothing manufacturers should keep abreast of the regulatory trends on the flame retardant properties of textiles and clothing in importing countries, and organize production in strict accordance with relevant requirements in the textile production process. Secondly, enterprises must control the procurement of raw materials. When companies select raw material suppliers, they require the suppliers to provide flame retardant performance test reports of the raw materials. Thirdly, the company conducts risk prediction and review of the first sample design and strictly controls the product development process to avoid loss of quality due to design errors.
