In the context of the International Year of Chemistry and the green and low-carbon economy, for shoe-making companies, 2011 is not so much a year of competition in product research and development capabilities as it is a year of testing the company’s green and environmentally friendly production. From shoemaking equipment, sole materials, upper fabrics to glue use and other production links, domestic shoemaking companies will deepen innovation and transformation in many aspects to cope with the “green” test.
Since the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, my country’s footwear industry has developed rapidly. According to incomplete statistics, there are currently more than 30,000 footwear manufacturers in my country, with more than 4 million direct employees. China’s footwear industry currently has an annual output exceeding With an output of tens of billions of shoes, it has become a major shoe-making country in the world. According to estimates, more than 300,000 tons of organic volatile compounds are discharged into the atmosphere every year from my country’s shoemaking industry, causing serious pollution to the environment. At the same time, some enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, use adhesives containing “triphenyl”, which can easily cause chronic occupational poisoning, such as cancer, leukemia, infertility, respiratory diseases, etc. In addition, poor ventilation conditions, or even no ventilation at all, have led to frequent benzene poisoning incidents among production workers and a high rate of occupational diseases.
In recent years, with the implementation and update of EU reach regulations, China’s shoe industry, as a labor-intensive industry, involves a large amount, wide range and variety of risky chemicals in its products. In addition, shoe companies exporting to the EU have a high risk to foreign countries. Insufficient attention and insufficient research on standards, regulations, etc. have made export companies more passive when faced with technical measures. Many companies still have certain misunderstandings about reach regulations, causing my country’s footwear products to be notified and returned when exported to relevant countries. Incidents happen. For example, in the first quarter of 2010, according to official statistics from the United States and the European Union, a total of 31 batches of China’s exported footwear products were notified and recalled by Europe and the United States, a 40% increase compared with the same period last year. Among them, the content of azo, formaldehyde and hexavalent chromium in raw materials far exceeds international standards. Chemical contamination is the main reason for the recall of footwear products, accounting for 82.48% of all reported recalls. Therefore, it is urgent and urgent to seek environmentally friendly solutions for the Chinese shoe industry.
As high-level national officials and relevant government departments attach great importance to environmental protection, adhesives containing “triphenyl” have now been greatly restricted, and some companies’ products have been ordered to withdraw from the market. At the same time, a series of environmental protection laws and regulations have been introduced one after another, creating a healthier atmosphere for the market. According to the reporter’s understanding, controlling “triphenyl” pollution and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of employees in Fujian, a major shoe-making province, have long been on the agenda of the provincial party committee and government. Last year and this year, the rectification of “triphenyl” exhaust gas has been listed as a practical project for the people by the provincial party committee and the provincial government for two consecutive years. Fujian Province has issued the “Management Measures for the Use of Benzene-Free Adhesives in the Shoemaking Industry of Fujian Province” to promote the use of benzene-free adhesives and comprehensively regulate the benzene-free adhesive market. All benzene-free adhesives entering the provincial market must be certified by the Provincial Environmental Protection Department. . In addition, according to the relevant regulations on the provincial environmental protection industry market management, benzene-free rubber production or distribution units must also obtain qualification certification from the Provincial Environmental Protection Department. Environmental protection departments at all levels will cooperate with law enforcement departments such as industry and commerce, labor, health, and technical supervision to prohibit the production, sale, and use of benzene-free adhesives that have not been certified by the provincial environmental protection department; restrict the use of “triphenyl” adhesives by shoe-making enterprises. Those used must carry out “triphenyl” exhaust gas purification and treatment.
For a long time, 95% of traditional shoemaking companies have used chloroprene adhesives. A large amount of organic solvents are discharged into the atmosphere every year, and there is a certain degree of benzene pollution. Last year, many small and medium-sized shoe material companies actively explored emerging markets, allowing exports to maintain a slight growth. Today, under the background of green ecology, energy conservation and emission reduction, the export of shoe products will face more environmental pressure.
Peng Jinxin, member of the Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, vice chairman of the China Low Carbon Economic Development Promotion Association, and vice chairman of the Academic Committee of the International Low Carbon Economy Research Center, recently pointed out that enterprises must be vigorously guided to promote product innovation based on scientific and technological innovation and actively develop Environmentally friendly, high-tech, high value-added footwear products, adjust footwear export varieties according to the requirements of different markets and periods. In this way, we can not only successfully deal with green barriers, but also create a healthier and harmonious living environment for ourselves.
At present, my country’s environmentally friendlyGreat breakthroughs have been made in the research and development of sole materials, upper fabrics and adhesives, green dyes and finishing aids. Nowadays, the requirements are getting higher and higher, and waterproof shoe materials and anti-siphon shoe materials are becoming more and more popular.
