“Forbes” editor J. Szczerba recently announced that a series of smart clothing products have been launched or will be launched soon:
1) AiQ Smart Clothing Company produces a series of smart clothing, including anti-fouling touch capacitive gloves, luminous clothing, uniform heat dissipation clothing, and even metal mesh clothing that can protect against radiation.
2) Designer Pauline Van Dongen invented a wearable solar-powered clothing line. Her jackets and dresses incorporate solar cells that charge smartphones, and the batteries can be covered with fabric when not in use.
3) SmartSox helps diabetic patients who have lost feeling in their feet avoid amputation. SmartSox uses fiber optic materials and sensors to monitor the foot’s temperature, blood pressure and joint angles and alert the wearer or caregiver of potential problems with the foot.
4) Exmobaby is a smart clothing specially designed for newborns and infants. Sensors on it can monitor vital signs and limb movements, send relevant information to 3G and Bluetooth components, and issue appropriate warnings.
5) Researchers at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain, invented a smart hospital gown that can wirelessly measure body temperature, heart rate, patient position and patient limb status (sitting, standing, lying, walking, running).
