Tajikistan spinning mills produce more than 10,000 tons of cotton yarn

According to a report from Tajikistan’s Avesta News Agency in Dushanbe on June 16, in the past three years (2017-2019), Tajikistan’s spinning mills produced more than 60,000 tons of cotton yarn , the total output value of light industry enterprises (including cotton ginning plants) reached 8 billion somoni. According to data from the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, Tajikistan currently has 18 spinning mills, which can produce 80,000 tons of cotton yarn per year if operated in three shifts. Due to lack of liquidity, severe wear and tear of equipment and other reasons, some textile enterprises in Tajikistan are not operating at full capacity. Most of the cotton yarn produced in Tajikistan is exported, as is the lint cotton, and the domestic processing utilization rate is only 20-25%. </p
