Bangladesh leather industry is short of funds

According to a report by Bangladesh’s “Daily Star” on June 30, affected by the new crown epidemic, Bangladesh’s leather products come from four major markets: Spain, Italy, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Finished product orders decreased by 40%, and these four markets accounted for approximately 60% of Bangladesh’s total leather finished product exports. The Bangladesh Tannery Industry Association stated that due to the ongoing epidemic of the new crown epidemic, the sales of the leather industry have declined, resulting in a shortage of funds, and most tanneries do not have enough working capital to purchase raw hides. Therefore, the leather industry is seeking Taka 6 billion in financial support from the Bangladesh government. </p
