On February 23, 2021, the WTO Safeguards Committee released the safeguard notification submitted to it by the Indonesian delegation on February 11. The Indonesian investigation agency made an affirmative final ruling on safeguard measures for imported clothing and apparel accessories (Articles of AppasdfssdfsrelasdfssdfsndClothing Accessories), recommending that the Indonesian government impose a three-year safeguard measure tax on the products involved (see Table 1 for details: Indonesia’s final safeguard measure on imported apparel and apparel accessories) (Result of ruling), this case involves products under 134 Indonesian tax numbers in 7 categories of clothing and clothing accessories (see Table 2 for details: Tax numbers of products involved in the case). The implementation of safeguard measures shall be subject to the decree published by the Indonesian Ministry of Finance in its official gazette.
Stakeholders should submit written application for case consultation in both paper and electronic forms within 7 days of the release of this announcement.

On October 1, 2020, in response to the Indonesian Textile Association (IndonesiasdfssdfsTextileAssociasdfssdfstion) on September 9, 2020 According to the application submitted, the Indonesian Safeguard Measures Committee initiated a safeguard measure investigation into imported clothing and clothing accessories. The investigation period of the case is from 2017 to 2019.
