Data compiled by the Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (ACIMIT) show that affected by the good performance of orders from abroad and from the Italian domestic market, Italian textile machinery as of January-March 2021 The order intake index grew 66% compared with the same period in 2020.
ACIMIT sets the index value for the first quarter of 2021 at 129.3 points (base: 2015=100).
Orders from abroad showed a 68% growth, and the absolute value of the index reached 125.5 points. On the domestic front, the increase in orders was more mixed but still significant (+54% compared to Q1 2020), with an absolute value of 164.1 points in the index. Compared with the results of the first quarter of 2020, production almost completely stopped after the epidemic began. </p
