Bangladesh only exports of garments and leather perform well

According to the Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh (EPB), due to high inflation caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict, global demand for African apparel products has declined. Bangladesh only has apparel, leather and leather products. Two major export products performed well in the first half of fiscal year 2023, and other commodities with good export momentum in the past few years began to shrink. For example, the export revenue of home textiles in fiscal year 2011 was US$1.62 billion, a year-on-year increase of 43.28%; however, the industry’s export revenue from July to December in fiscal year 2011/23 was US$601 million, a decrease of 16.02%. </p
