On March 31, the Department of Chemistry and Petrochemicals of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers of India issued an announcement on the extension of the quality control order for six categories of chemicals, which means that manufacturers of related products will have extra time. To apply for BIS certification, after the quality control order officially takes effect, the relevant products must comply with Indian standards and be certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards and affixed with the certification mark. Otherwise, they may not be produced, sold, traded, imported or stored. The effective dates of relevant product quality control orders are as shown in the table below.
